Everton are interested in Wigan’s 23 year-old French midfielder Charles N’Zogbia.

Sources have indicated to us that Everton are closely looking at the former Newcastle man with a view to bringing the player to Goodison Park this summer.

David Moyes, who is believed to want to add pace to his team, was at the Wigan versus Arsenal match last weekend and saw N’Zogbia hit the winner for Wigan late on.

N’Zogbia, who is currently on police-bail for getting someone to complete his driving theory test for him, plays as a left winger but can also play at left back. N’Zogbia could be a possible replacement for Steven Pienaar should the club decide to sell the South African rather than offer him a new £60,000 per-week contract that he has supposedly asked the club for.

Everton have identified Landon Donovan as their main summer target but may be unable to seal a deal due to the club wishing to remain on good terms with LA Galaxy and the MLS.
