Seamus Coleman has become the 3rd player to leave Everton in the space of a week after signing an initial one-month loan deal at Blackpool. Coleman will be rivalling James Vaughan over the next month as they try to help their respective loan clubs cement a play-off position in the Championship. As things stand Vaughan’s Leicester lie 4th with a game in hand whilst Coleman’s Blackpool are in 9th 5 points outside the play offs.

Blackpool’s fixtures over the next month:
Crystal Palace (H)
Swansea (H)
Plymouth (A)
Scunthope (A)
Doncaster (H)
Newcastle (A)
Nottingham Forest (H)

Coleman was named man-of-the-match in Everton’s game against Spurs against Goodison Park after an outstanding performance at right-back, he had also impressed against AEK Athens and BATE Borisov in the Europa League. The move will give the young Irishman a chance to play regular first-team football before challenging for a fight to become Everton’s first choice right-back next season.

Meanwhile there still remains glimmers of hope that Landon Donovan could return to Everton this season as the possibility of an MLS labour strike remains. James Vaughan came on as a substitute last week for Leicester in their win over Cardiff before sitting out their game against Crystal Palace with a slight injury.
