James Vaughan signs for Leicester City
By Ian Phillips • Mar 11th, 2010 • Category: News |James Vaughan has joined Championship high-flyers Leicester City inititally on a one-month loan deal. Leicester, who are without top scorer Matty Fryatt while he recovers from a broken jaw, have added Vaughan to boost their striking options as they seek to secure a place in the play-offs for promotion to the Premier League. The move could be extended until the end of the season but even if it is not Vaughan will get plenty of action at the Walkers Stadium club with the Foxes playing no less than 8 fixtures in the month. If he can stay fit Vaughan should get himself plenty of game time and the chance to score a few goals after a career that has been blighted by injuries.
Leicester’s fixtures over the next month:
Cardiff (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Reading (H)
Derby (A)
Cardiff (A)
West Brom (A)
QPR (H)
Peterborough (A)
The move could be a chance for Vaughan to increase his price tag as he is rumoured to be on the move permanently in the summer with Jermain Beckford expected to replace him in a bosman deal. Moyes apparently watched Beckford this week at Prenton Park in Leeds’ 4-1 win over Tranmere where Beckford netted a hat-trick.
