Transfer update: Banega set for loan move; Double Spurs raid?; Taylor latest
By Ian Phillips • Aug 19th, 2009 • Category: News |Everton are set to sign Argentine midfield star Ever Banega on a season long loan from Valencia if a work permit can be granted. Blues officials will attend a Home Office hearing in London on Friday to try and secure the permit and complete the move.
Meanwhile The Daily Mirror reports that Everton are set to make a £12m bid for Spurs duo Alan Hutton and David Bentley. Bentley dubbed “the new Beckham” wants a move away from Spurs after an unsuccesful year on and off the pitch whilst Hutton hasn’t replicated the form he showed for Rangers. The move would strengthen Everton’s right hand side which is much needed with many fans seeing Tony Hibbert and Leon Osman as the weak links in the Everton line up.
Also as we exclusively revealed on Friday Steven Taylor was due for a medical on Monday, however we believe this has not happened as the clubs are still trying to agree a fee. The move has been further complicated by Aston Villa and Fulham joining the race for the Toon defender
