Reports in France suggest that Marseille have accepted a €10m (£8.6m) bid from Everton for midfield general Lorik Cana. Cana who is the tough tackling captain of the Albania national team could prove to be a bargain for Moyes who appears to have been priced out of a move for Standard Liege midfield Steven Defour.

Elsewhere 21 year old Swedish international Rasmus Elm was shown around Finch Farm on Friday and is close to completing a move to Goodison Park. The price is rumoured to be around £3m but there is also competition from Fulham
