Arteta on Arsene’s Radar?

By • Dec 29th, 2008 • Category: News |

Rumours have been surfacing today that Arsene Wenger will make a £10 million bid for Everton play-maker Mikel Arteta. Arsenal have had a poor season so far and are just 3 points ahead of the Blues. The Gunners have been hit hard by the loss of their influential captain Cesc Fabregas until April and see Arteta as a player who could fill the void. Everton would be very unwilling to sell though, especially at such a low price.

Arteta was brought in on loan in January 2005 seen as a replacement for Thomas Gravesen who moved to Real Madrid, he signed permanently for the Blues in that summer for an undisclosed fee believed to be around £2-3 million. He has since proved to be one of David Moyes best buys playing all over the midfield with his free-kicks as his trade-mark. Yesterday against Sunderland Mikel was Man-of-the-Match with 2 strikes, one a direct free-kick, the other a rebound from another free-kick.

  1. No chance of him going 😀 even though i bet he’d love to play with Fabregas in their midfield…

  2. Well the interest from Arsenal is probably down to Fabregas’s injury, once Cesc is back would Arteta start for Arsenal? I don’t think so..

  3. Never gonna happen he will be at Everton until he dies
