Everton have launched a bid to sign Nigerian international striker Peter Odemwingie on loan.

Odemwingie, who can also play as a winger, is 27 years old and current plays for Lokomotiv Moscow. Everton will face stiff competition from the usual suspects for the player.. Newcaslte, Spurs and West Ham.

Odemwingie’s adviser, Nathaniel says: “I can confirm that Everton have made contact with me about Peter, and they want to take him on loan,”.

“At the moment Lokomotiv appear to want to sell him, but talks are continuing between the two clubs.”

Nathaniel confirmed that there were other clubs looking at Odemwingie, with the likes of Tottenham, Newcastle and West Ham linked with bids.

“There are other clubs looking at Peter.”

Odemwingie has  a decent goal scoring record, he has scored 27 times in 75 appearances for Lille and 6 times in 15 appearances for Lokomotiv Moscow.

The transfer windows on January 1st and these positive signs show intent to bring players in, but it sadly looks like we’re broke… again.
