Everton vs Chelsea Goodison Park 8:00pm Premier League Monday 21st

Everton go into Monday nights game hoping to end Chelsea’s unbeaten away record in the Premier League of 11 consecutive games. A run that included Chelsea’s 1-0 win at Goodison Park near the end of last season. The run has to end soon though and Everton fans will be hoping it ends where it basically began. Louis Saha and Victor Anichebe will face late fitness tests. Everton did ok without any strikers last week, winning 1-0 at Man City courtesy of a very late Tim Cahill header. Evertons record against Chelsea isn’t the best and their last win against them was in 2001 when Everton won 2-1 with Kevin Campbell netting the winner- i think, it was so long ago now!

Chelsea haven’t performed particularly well this season and trail Liverpool by a few points depending on how Arsenal-Liverpool goes.
Chelsea’s last game was a dissapointing 1-1 draw at home to West Ham. Everton could do their rivals a big favour by winning Chelsea but even if we lose some Everton fans will be slightly happy that they have made it harder for Liverpool to keep top place. A win is vital though to keep up with the pace and with Villa scraping an undeserved victory at West Ham Everton will need something to keep within touching distance. A win could move us into 6th though with Hull losing 4-1 to Sunderland.

Team News
Everton will give Victor Anichebe(back) and Louis Saha(hamstring) late fitness tests to see if Everton will have any fit strikers for the game. James Vaughan, Yakubu and Nuno Valente are long term absentees and won’t play.
Chelsea’s Ricardo Carvalho sustained a knee injury and will not take part as won’t Michael Essien, Franco Di Santo and Florent Malouda.

Follow Everton’s Prediction:

Everton 1-1 Chelsea- Chelsea’s winning run has to end sometime and with Everton still buzzing after the late winner against City and Carvalho and Essien missing this game could end in a draw. If Everton don’t perform though it could be 2 or 3 nil easily to Chelsea.
