Everton vs Aston Villa Goodsion Park 16:00pm Sky Sports 1

Fights between fans at Wigan after a poor display, then emulated by ecstasy away to Spurs last weekend. What will tomorrow’s game have in store?

FORM GUIDE

Everton go into another sunday game hoping to go level on points with todays opposition Aston Villa with a much needed win. One setback though is the loss of main man Aiyegbeni Yakubu who is out for the season after rupturing his Achilles Tendon 10 minutes into last weeks 1-0 victory over Tottenham. With James Vaughan out until after the new year and Louis Saha having trouble with his hamstring, it will be upto Victor Anichebe to lead the attack. Anichebe only has 1 goal to his name this season and will be hoping to take this oppurtunity to bag a few goals and put himself in contention for a starting place in the coming months. Everton’s current form is one of the best in the league, only losing 1 in 7. Home games haven’t been Everton’s strong point though with only 1 win in 7 and 3 losses.

Aston Villa will be hoping to bounce back from their embarrasing Uefa Cup defeat against MSK Zilina with a win up North against The Blues. Villa have had a good season so far having beaten Arsenal at The Emirates and getting good draws against Man Utd and Liverpool. The Villans have been touted as possible top 4 challengers and they have lived up to expectations having been fighting Arsenal all season for that final Champions League place. Their last Premier League game was a 0-0 draw against Fulham.

TEAM NEWS

Everton only have 1 fit striker for the match with Louis Saha and James Vaughan injured with hamstring and knee injuries respectively. Yakubu is out for the season and Nuno Valente is out until April at least. Tony Hibbert is still recovering from a knee injury.

Villa will have John Carew missing as he may require surgery on his back. Ashley Young may be back after a calf injury. Defender Curtis Davies should return after an ankle injury and Sidwell will after his wife gave birth.

Prediciton:

Optimistic: Everton 2 Villa 0.

With Everton’s great win at Spurs and Villa slipping up at home to Fulham and Zilina, the toffees should scrape a winner even without there top 3 strikers.

Pessimistc: Everton 1 Villa 1.

An early goal for Villa means Everton have to apply as much pressure as possible to find that elusive equalizer. Despite threats from claret and blue counter attacks, Everton manage to find a goal to level the game and make for an interesting last twenty.
