After yet another thread bare squad faced another team in our annual pre season tour of America, resulting in our annual pre season defeat, Moyes has issued another stark statement to the board that he needs new faces, as Everton head into another season fighting on four fronts, with Moyes expecting 60 plus games.

With only 15 first team players, Van de Meyde, and a collection of inexperienced youngsters bolstering the squad numbers, faces are desperately needed. Especially wrhen you consider the fact that we only have six midfielders, and that is only if you’re desperate and class Neville as a midfielder! (Please god not again). With the season starting in just over 2 weeks, and no activity on the transfer front, nightmares of Gravesen holding up an Everton shirt at a press conference are really disturbing my sleep.

In a damning criticism of his players performance against Chicago, Moyes once again reiterated the need for at least 6 new players to tackle the fast approaching season . In an interview with the official site, Moyes stated, “We can’t hide the fact that we need new players at Everton. Everybody knows it, I know it, the players know it. We have to get five or six players in before the season starts. It’s okay getting fit, but you’ve got to be able to play better and at the moment there’s not enough competition for the players to realise that if they play poorly they won’t be selected.” Moyes has made it known there is money to spend, so well, spend it!

However with reported assurances from the club that one way or another the Moutinho saga will be settled come next week, the expected sale of Johnson will hopefully be the catalyst for a flurry of signings. So with fingers crossed and barely any nails left, the FollowEverton team are ready and waiting to give the news and reactions to all things Everton, and hopefully the news that Neville will not be needed anywhere near midfield.
