Once again Everton have been linked with a host of names this week but still no new faces at Finch Farm. The main stories to emerge this week from the rumour mill are that the toffees are interested in Pablo Aimar, Mehmet Aurelio and Darren Fletcher.

Pablo Aimar seems to be the most eye catching player linked with the Merseysiders this week. The Argentine international is currently playing for Real Zaragoza but the club has been recently relegated from La Liga. It is believed that the 28 year old would like to move on from the Spanish outfit and the English Premiership is an ideal destination in his opinion

Mehmet Aurelio is a defensive midfielder who had a good Euro 2008 tournament with semi-finalists Turkey. The 30 year old is available on a free and was supposed to sign for Real Betis but negotiations between Aurelio’s agent and club officials broke down. Everton have however come out today saying they haven’t made a move for the Turkish international yet.

A surprise name that popped out this week was Darren Fletcher of Manchester United. The Scottish midfielder is on the periphery at United and is beginning to get frustrated with the lack of first team football he is receiving. Moyes is known to go in for Manchester United squad players, as he has already signed Tim Howard and Phil Neville. It is believed that the 24 year old could cost up to £6 million to secure his services.

Surely by this time next week Everton would have brought in at least one new player to the club. If not then the fans will start to get agitated with the lack of transfer activity and will demand answers from Moyes, Kenwright and Wyness.

  2. Any bloody sighning would be a quality one, im getting realy cheesed off with speculation and no action, as usual left till last minute proberly end up bringing in walking wounded again or a visit down the pension que

  3. Stop moaning Steve, when was the last time Moyes bought over the hill wounded players i suppose you were one of them calling for his head earlier in the season. It could be alot worse, just look at the spanish waiter they have for a manager next door hes only made 1 good buy in several years spending around 200 million. Give Moyes time and he will deliver in the market.
