Arshavin starts for Russia

Russia midfielder Andrei Arshavin returns to the starting line up for Russia’s game against Sweden tonight after missing out on Russia’s last two games through match suspension.

Everton manager David Moyes is likely to be watching the Russian in action and Moyes will secretly be hoping Russia are knocked out at this stage so he can make a move for Arshavin sooner rather then later.

Arshavin is apparently on the top of Moyes’ wish list however there will be a hefty price tag of around £12m for the 27 year old, who can also play up-front. If Kenwright wants Champions League football then Arshavin is the type of player Everton need to progress.

Moyes has said on numerous occasions he wants players with a bit of “graft” and Russia captain Arshavin certainly fits the bill.

Evertonians can keep up with his performance on ITV. Tonights other game is Greece Vs Spain.

Want him at Goodison? Discuss his performance and that question below!

  1. I obviously want Arshavin at Everton but actually getting him is a completly different question. He’ll cost a lot and i’m sure another team will offer him more in terms of money and opportunities.
