PSV for the blues

By • Jun 9th, 2008 • Category: News |

Everton will apparently take on Dutch side PSV Eindhoven the week before the season starts in a pre-season friendly.

The fixture was announced on PSV’s official website but Everton have not confirmed this yet.

Rumours of this fixture had been growing for a while as Evertonians hoped another top European side would play at Goodison this pre-season, following the 2-2 draw with Bremen last pre-season.

The Eredivisie champions will prove to be a real test for the Toffees. Players like Jefferson Farfán and Edison Méndez will be on show for PSV, who will play in the Champions League next season.

Everton will hope to have wrapped up all their major signings in time to impress manager David Moyes against the Dutch side. Michael Bradley, if he moves to Everton, would want to be involved in this game.

Is this a good match for David Moyes side? Leave your thoughts below.

  1. 😀 Good article. I’ll be getting me ticket, hopefully though where you say “Farfan” he will be in a blue shirt that day.

  2. 😯 Yes they won their League, but still, it IS the Dutch league, not the Premier. Thats why teams like them get into the Champions League. Stick us in their league and we’d be in the Champions League. That how it works.

  3. 😯 So you don’t think they are good enough opponents for us then??

  4. i would like to see some good signings in time for that game 😆
