Everton to release kit pictures
By Ryan G • Jun 2nd, 2008 • Category: News |Everton will release pictures for the new kit (2008/09) on Thursday 5th June.
The club have left a spoiler on the official website which suggests the words ‘Grand Old Team To Play For’ will be embedded into the back of the collar.
You will also be able to pre-order the kit on Friday 6th from the Everton megastore
Do you think Everton have gone for a more retro kit this year? What would you like to see on the kit?
Leave your thoughts below.
Terrific! Can’t wait. Although its been very late this year. Personally I’d like to keep a kit for two seasons for value but the club need the money.
Its getting a little bit tiresome this “lets have 3 new kits again” each season.
I’m old school. Remember the good old days when a kit lasted 2-3 seasons? You got your moneys worth then. Now your expected to for out 40odd quid for a shirt that isnt technically used all season as most times (apart from this year) the last home game we get another.
Poor show… dont they get enough money out of me every year when I renew my ticket? Grr.
From what I hear anyway, its basically the same as last season but without the stupid yellow bit on the neck. Did I mention Grr? 🙁
Well they need the dosh…..
good on ya blues…cant wait. why on earth do people complain about having to fork out on a new shirt each season….surely they can afford £36 over 9 months…its about 1 less pint or packet of cigarettes each month. or simply dont buy it because you’re not being dragged into the shop to get it. once again blues cant wait
Good post Ryan.
Have featured it on “Everton FC – The People’s Club” (on Facebook 8000+ members and growing)
Cheers.
OOOH – can’t wait. I wonder what it might look like – let’s guess shall we – how about Blue and …. possibly … White? So exciting i wet meself.
If you want to give these money graspers the dosh (because the Sky bribe and £500 plus for a season ticket ain’t enough to pay average players 60 grand per week) just send EFC Plc the money & stop giving to charity. But before you give it all away please keep enough (about £6.99) to buy a copy of The Beautiful Game: In Search of the Soul of Football by David Conn and learn something about what has happened to football under the stewardship of twats like Wyness.
See you next season (in the Park End) but I won’t be wearing one of these whatever it looks like.
Wake Up.
… its like the “we need investment” cries … have been forgotten…
We have to face it, Everton as a club won’t progress unless turnover increases.
I for one don’t mind buying the kits – as long as they look the part.
Face it. Everton are pretty good to their fans. Look at the RS, look at Chelski.
Where are we going to get the money from to buy players unless the club gets money in? How are we to progress without the investment people are daily talking about?
Basic law of economics – there is no such thing as a free lunch. And the Russian, the Yanks and similar will want their pound of flesh.
And Everton are not the worst by any means – be thankful of that.
If it me or do you feel like the club is being financially miss-managed?
You have to have something to sell first…
We’re starting to get to a point where the media and therefore sponsors and others have to take a greater note of the club.
Thats where the value of the club is – through name association (called “behavioural economics”).
Success breeds success.
We’re rolling forward – not backward.
Otherwise to turn an institution round you need zillions of investment which the investor in some way or other will want back.
We have to find a middle road – an “Everton Way”.
You only have to use Newcastle whom are financially in a mess an example of a way not to run a club.
They rely on outside investment. If Ashley weren’t there – they would be in a terrible terrible state right now.
Thats the knife edge football clubs live on.
Back of the collar? The pic seems to be of the bottom hem of the shirt.
I hope its somewhere easy to point to…
will totally enjoy pointing to it in front of my RS colleagues……
and telling em ‘its a grand old team to play for’….
and watch their faces!
Interesting choice of mismanagement – Mark
Weren’t the Barcodes the club whose Director’s revealed the kit scam in the first place? I seem to remember a couple of their director’s having to stand down because of comments they made about stupid fans paying over the odds for crap shirts.
Mike
As long as this goes towards progressing the club and investing in Moyes’ team – I doubt many Evertonians will mind. Particuarly given the clamouring – I see daily over the need “to invest in the club”.
Evertonians are a breed apart.
But yes – That whole attitude is one EFC need to stay clear of. We don’t need “Freddy Shepard” characters at the club.
I don’t think anyone at Everton is that moronic or twisted to treat the fans that way personally. And despite the EFC v KEIOC conflict – we all remember – we are all Evertonians.
Hope it looks more retro and hopefully it wont have any yellow or crap designs on it this year.
Don’t mind having a new kit every season, or how it looks, any everton kit is good enough for me, partly because the colour royal blue is so attractive, mostly because i love them with all my heart
