Transfer Roundup so far…

It was a busy week in the transfer rumour mill at Everton. The main story to come out of the papers this week was that David Moyes was after CSKA Moscow midfielder Dudu after being seen on a scouting trip watching CSKA Moscow in action. It is believed that CSKA Moscow are looking for around £8 million for the Brazilian.

Dudu plays in a defensive midfielder role at CSKA and would be seen as a direct replacement for Lee Carsley who left Everton after six years at the club to sign a two year deal at Birmingham City. Carsley cited family reasons for the main reason why he left the Merseyside club.

According to reports, Jo who has been linked with Everton is in Manchester ready to discuss a move to Manchester City. Also Man City are after another Everton target in the shape of the Russian playmaker Arshavin and are apparently ready to offer £12 million to newly crowned UEFA Cup champions Zenit Saint Petersburg to secure his services.

Jonas Olsson who is a Swedish international defender has also been linked with Everton this week. He can play in the centre of defence or on the left. He said “it would be a dream move” if he went to Everton. A scout from Everton was sent to see him in action for his current Dutch club NEC Nijmegen.

Since Steffan Wessels was released by Everton, David Moyes has been looking for an understudy for Tim Howard. He has apparently spoken to Maik Taylor’s advisers about a move to the club. However, he is unlikely to move to Everton because he wants first team football and is likely to sign a new two year deal with Birmingham. Moyes has also been rumoured to be interested in Wayne Hennessey from Wolves but has been priced out of a move for the Welsh international goalkeeper by the midlands club.

Everton are apparently chasing City midfielder Michael Johnson, former youth product of Everton.
The 20 year old will cost a reported 8m, however, Liverpool amongst others are interested in the ‘new Gerrard’, however, the usual suspects of Spurs have not been linked with him – yet.
