Big Sam Appointed Liverpool Manager, Caretaker Trio Stay + Ex Red Joins

Sam Allardyce will be confirmed as Everton manager later today.

The contact for Big Sam will run until the end of next season, with majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri apparently declaring the man “a strong leader” who will receive “all the support he needs”.

For many, the decision is one dismally underwhelming – and for others with dramatic fears of relegation – a sigh of relief. Those sitting in the ‘disappointed’ camp will be completely shocked to see in the space of a few years, the places of Moyes and Allardyce swapped – and had this game came a day later, Sam would be in the dugout tonight.

He will still be paraded at tonights home fixture vs West Ham.

Only Everton could have been so close to challenging without a penny, find investment and end up battling relegation with Mr 40 points.

One thing that will not go down well at all is that he is set to bring Liverpool fan and former player, coach and  caretaker manager Sammy Lee in. Blood will be boiling.

Craig Shakespeare also joins.

David Unsworth and Duncan Ferguson retain their place within the clubs backroom staff.

It is known that Sam was never Everton’s first choice to replace Ronald Koeman. He has been available for the entire 5 weeks since the sacking and could have come in immediately. The board failed to appoint their top targets once again.

FollowEverton were joined by Joe Brown to assess the news, and whether the former West Ham, Bolton and Newcastle manager will be good for the club.
