Child porn PC sacked from Met

A former Metropolitan Police officer who made indecent images of a child has been given a three-year community order.

Christopher Exley, 33, who protected MPs in the diplomatic protection squad, admitted four counts of making images of a child under 18 last month.

He was dismissed from the Metropolitan Police Service earlier in January.

Exley was ordered to enrol on an internet sex offenders programme for three years at Southwark Crown Court.

Judge Anthony Leonard QC also ordered him to attend supervision with police over 18 months, to observe a curfew between 20:00 GMT and 06:00 GMT and to wear an electronic tag.

Exley, who was based at Charing Cross Police Station in central London, was a constable in the diplomatic protection squad who guarded members of Parliament.

'Special circumstances'

In December Exley admitted three counts of making an indecent image of a child under 18, and making 53 indecent images of a child.

Addressing Exley, Judge Leonard said the offences were "serious" but he had taken into account "special" circumstances in the case.

"Most of the images that were downloaded were only in the form of thumbnails and you did not go further to download the full pictures," he said.

"They were downloaded or accessed at four separate accounts only, I took that into account.

"I also took into account the deletion of the vast majority of the images, leaving, I think, only five out of what was in effect 49 images, if one takes out the repetition."

"I take into account your previous good character and the material that I have read on you," he added.

"You get no special treatment as a result of having been a police officer."

Nicholas Yeo, defending, said Exley, who had been a police officer since 2002, had at "no stage" distributed or shown any of the images.

He added that the former police officer had been a "respected and trusted" police officer who had worked protecting MPs in his role in the diplomatic protection squad.

'No special treatment'? The only treatment he requires is some serious neck-stretchin' treatment, the despicable animal Angry26

Devon paedophile police officer Danny Bryant jailedDanny Bryant Police surf club coach Danny Bryant took advantage of weekends away to commit abuse
A paedophile policeman who abused boys for more than a decade has been jailed for six and a half years.

Danny Bryant committed several of the offences as an official of a police surf life saving club in Devon, Taunton Crown Court heard.

Bryant, 65, of Bideford, admitted 10 indecent assaults against five boys between 1974 and 1985.

The case has been referred to the Police Complaints Authority amid claims of a police cover-up.

Bryant helped run a Surf Life Saving GB club affiliated at Saunton Sands in the 1980s when Russel Dawson said he was abused a number of times.

'Mentor and hero'

Mr Dawson, who was 14 when the abuse began, has waived his right to anonymity.

"The police covered it up and it has been really difficult getting on with my life”

He told police in a statement that all the members of the club saw Bryant, who was awarded the British Empire Medal in 1985 for his youth work, as a "mentor and our hero".

But from 1983, Bryant took advantage of weekends away to abuse Mr Dawson.

The abuse continued until 1988 when Mr Dawson heard that Bryant had abused another child not connected with the surf club and reported it to the police.

He said he gave a detailed statement, but police later wrote to him saying they "did not feel they had enough evidence to prosecute".

Mr Dawson then consulted a solicitor about taking legal action, but he said that he was visited later by a chief inspector who warned him and his family about the "horrendous ordeal" a civil case would be and he agreed to drop it.

Bryant continued as a PC in Devon and Cornwall Police until he was suspended in 1993 after another victim came forward.

'Crippling and devastating'

Mr Dawson's mother offered to help police investigate, but he said "she was told that they did not need her help and she was asked not to call them again".

Bryant retired on medical grounds in 1994, but was only charged this year.

Mr Dawson said after the case that the abuse had been "crippling and devastating".

He said: "The police covered it up and it has been really difficult getting on with my life."

Sentencing Bryant, Judge David Ticehurst said it was "a matter of regret that the force did not bring him to justice before".

Devon and Cornwall Police said in a statement: "The prosecution of Danny Bryant demonstrates that no matter how long ago an offence may have been committed, the door is never closed and offenders will be brought to justice.

"The fact that Danny Bryant committed these crimes while a serving police officer makes them all the more serious and an unforgiveable abuse of trust which the public should quite rightly give to a police officer."

Esther Pearson, chief executive of Surf Life Saving GB (SLSGB), said the organisation had been unaware of the allegations until it received a letter from Mr Dawson on 19 October last year.

Bryant lost his membership of the organisation and was barred as a volunteer the next day, she said.

Ms Pearson said that Bryant had had no contact with children in his role in the organisation since 1993.

She said: "We take our safeguarding policy in regard to volunteers who have regular contact with children very seriously."

Hang him & hang that fuckin' chief inspector. Filthy b****** animals.

That probably shouldn't be in the "there's a shock" thread, seemed quite obvious he was fond of cock. Seems it's been received quite well but I still don't thing that a footy player coming out would get a good reaction

RE: There's a shock!
More unabashed police corruption. Only got sacked this time. Meh Still, I guess it's a few less 'bad apples' innit? Confused

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-lan...e-25297854

Four detectives have been sacked by Lancashire Constabulary for running a car-buying scam.

The headquarters-based officers ordered cars for their covert police unit they knew they could later buy personally at a heavily-reduced price.

The force said the officers - including a chief inspector - were found guilty of gross misconduct at a disciplinary hearing. A fifth was exonerated.

A police spokeswoman said their actions had "brought discredit to the force".

Clive Grunshaw, Lancashire Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC), said they had let down dedicated the vast majority of dedicated and hard-working officers.

Personal advantage

The officers, who also number a detective inspector, a detective sergeant and a detective constable, were part of a covert unit based at the force's headquarters in Hutton, near Preston, which changed its unmarked police cars regularly to avoid recognition.

The cars would be sold at greatly reduced prices to the public after a few months.

It was alleged the officers ordered specific cars with particular specifications for police work, before buying them personally later.

The allegations were investigated by the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC).

The BBC understands the misconduct cases centred on accusations that officers abused their positions for personal advantage.

A Lancashire Constabulary spokeswoman said the force was first alerted to the issue in October 2012 and the officers had been suspended since March.

"The case was referred to the IPCC and a full and thorough investigation continued under their supervision which resulted in the officers being charged with gross misconduct, as we were clear that in our view there was a case to answer," she said.

The spokeswoman added: "The impact of their actions has brought discredit to the force."

They like sayin' "It brought discredit to the force" don't they? Brought plenty of credit with the car dealership, though, didn't it? Whistle
