Everton Star Faces Spell On Sidelines

Everton midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure has suffered a foot injury and could be absent for up to eight weeks, in what is a huge blow to the club’s aspirations of a top six finish.

The 28-year-old was substituted against West Brom with what appeared to be a knock, but it has now become clear that the injury is more significant.

FollowEverton sources confirmed the injury prior to Everton’s clash with Chelsea at the Bridge, with news coming out of Finch Farm that the player had not trained and had suffered “a stress fracture”.

Now Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that the injury is an “important one” and will be absent at least until after the international break, but with “no timescale” on his recovery.

In better news, Seamus Coleman is expected to return for upcoming fixtures but Ancelotti was less confident about James Rodriguez, who has been absent with an unexplained injury.
