Everton Fail in £6.2m Bid for M’Vila

Everton have failed in their attempts to sign French international midfielder Yann M’Vila.

Fans will be disappointed to hear the highly-rated 22-year-old has joined Russian club Rubin Kazan in a £9.6m deal.

QPR and Fulham were also in the fold for M’Vila’s signature, with the former making a £6.2m bid that would rise to £6.6m if the London side avoided relegation.

However, M’Vila was not keen on joining the Premier League’s bottom club.

Everton saw their initial loan offer turned down, with former club Rennes only interested in a permanent transfer.

But the player himself indicated preference in joining Everton, who then moved to make a similar offer to QPR: £3.3m up front and a further £2.9m at the end of the season. If Everton were to qualify for the Champions League, a further £300,000 payment would be made to Rennes.

M’Vila wanted to join Everton but they could not match the financial power of Rubin Kazan.
