Toffees chase Boyata

Manchester City defender Dedryck Boyata has today been linked with a move to Everton, as the young Belgian defender searches for more regular first team opportunities. The 20 year-old is highly regarded but has struggled to breakthrough to the first team at Eastlands.

Boyata had been linked with a move to Bolton as part of a deal that would see Gary Cahill move in the opposite direction, however it appears that he’s not keen on a move to the Reebok. His father, Bienvenu Boyata, revealed Evertons interest: “If Dedryck will get the promise from coach Mancini that he will get sufficient playing opportunities he will stay for sure,” Bienvenu told Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws.

“There could be a deal made with Gary Cahill from Bolton, but Dedryck doesn’t want to go to that club.

“Everton are showing interest in him as well, and they are very much an option for him.”
