Phil Jagielka, whose season was ended a few weeks ago through injury, has been named Everton fans’ and players’ player of the season. Jagielka has been instrumental to Everton’s success this season and it was certainly no surprise to see him take the top award. Jagielka said afterwards: “Hopefully the boys can do it [win the FA Cup] this year and I’ll be back next year and we can do it again.”
Chairman Bill Kenwright revealed afterwards that talks over a new contract for Jagielka had also begun:  “Hopefully there will be more than one new contract in the pipeline. At this moment I am talking to three players and Phil is one.”

Elsewhere Marouane Fellaini was named Young Player of the Season. The £15million midfielder is currently Everton’s joint top scorer with 9 goals. Jack Rodwell came second with Dan Gosling third.

Dan Gosling’s famous strike over Liverpool won goal of the season: “I had people stopping me in the street the day after. I know ITV missed it but I think everyone has seen it now!” Dan’s goal beat Arteta’s freekick against Hull and Steven Pienaar’s effort at Villa Park.

Other awards included:

Reserve Player of the year:  Kieran Agard

Ladies Player of the year: Fara Williams

Academy player of the year: James McCarten

Shareholder’s young player of the year: Jack Rodwell

Everton Giant: Harry Catterick
