We deserved to go out tonight on that result alone. Forget about the game at Goodison.

Just move on, well get back up again.

Nah not for me, if wed of had a go I wouldnt have minded but that was pathetic, we treated them like they Real f***ing Madrid mate, if we want to trophies we need to batter these types of teams they were for the taking, but we gave them more and more confidence!

Dreadful mate

Im just not trying to pessimistic about it, I knew we were always going to lose this game but everyone was like 'good optimism that' 'stop being so depressing' F_doh

Im not with ya, how we were always going to lose the game? Based on what? The fact we outplayed them in the first leg or the fact weve recently battered Chelsea and Man U??

Moyes negative tactics cost us that game - it's that simple.

He sent them out with a negative attitude & we surrendered the initiative from the first whistle. When he then got Osman to man mark Moutinho we totally lost our shape, & it was the wrong move anyway, as the issue was the space between the backline & the midfield, as Yobo & Senderos were sat far too deep which left a huge gap which Moutinho exploited.

It took us 62 minutes to have an attempt at goal, which is a shocking stat, & an indication of our mindset last night.

Yet again Moyes has f*cked it up in a European away game, add last night to the ever growing list, of Bucharest, Leige & Fiorentina.

If we'd have played our own game rather than being sh*t scared of an average side, low on confidence, who's manager is on the verge of the boot, then we'd have scored last night & killed the tie.

Instead, we're sat wondering what might have been.

p.s Neville & Bily were total shite again last night, Captain Gobshite needs to be dropped.

Thats the thing that baffles the living daylights out of me, why when wed outplayed them in the first leg and when we have recently battered two Champions League teams in Chelsea and Man U were we so scared out of a team who lacked in confidence are only 4th in the Portugese Leage FFS??

Last night has really stuck in the throat for me.

Same here mate, Moyes was over cautious again, he's got an issue with European away games IMO, he should treat them like any other game, but for some reason he doesn't. We play in the best league in the world, the likes of Sporting should hold no fear for a side who's just beaten (& outplayed) the best 2 sides in the EPL.

He paid them too much respect & sent the team out with the same mentality, that defeat is totally down to him IMO. Piss poor given our recent run of form.

Excellent summation of the match. Spot on. Add Yobo to Captain Gobshite.

The Russian who played for SPorrting was quality over the two legs. Moutinho and Veloso should be looked at again for us.
