Everton's new Russian signing has told his new fans: 'You can call me Billy'.

Diniyar Bilyaletdinov signed for the Toffees on Monday and arrived at Finch Farm on Saturday.

He could feature in Sunday's clash with Wigan but before that he took time to speak exclusively to evertonTV.

In the interview Bilyaletdinov, who will wear the number 7 shirt this season, revealed that he was fully aware that his name is a bit of a tongue-twister, adding that he's happy to be known as 'Billy'.

That moniker had already been used by manager David Moyes and teammates Phil Neville and Tim Cahill.

The Russia midfielder told evertonTV: "Bilyaletdinov - it's not easy, it's very, very long. Call me Billy, it's no problem."

With that sorted, Billy's next priority is to get his first experience of a Premier League encounter at Goodison Park.

"I know that it is the best championship in Europe," he said.

"Every team is so strong and plays two times a week. It's a very interesting tournament and I can't wait for tomorrow - I want to see the stadium and see the fans for the first time."

Sounds like the Viva Ronaldo song United used to sing Dance

If he can replicate any of the good things Ronaldo does then i wont complain that's for sure!
