Kirkby still to go ahead?
Everton are continuing negotiations with the former Chelsea midfielder Tiago over a proposed loan move to Goodison Park, despite indications the Juventus player is reluctant to return to England. The club's hopes of relocating to Kirkby, meanwhile, have been revived after Tesco, the supermarket behind the proposed £400m retail and stadium scheme, succeeded in securing an early date for a public inquiry into the development.
From http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2008/....stokecity I've seen other reports about a decision in December, does anyone think this will still happen? |

RE: Kirkby still to go ahead?
Dunno Jo - the enquiry date has obviously been "fast tracked" which is a good thing all round IMO - as irrespective of whether the scheme gets the go ahead or not - all parties need to move on & given the growing credit crunch issue - time is of the essence, for both Kirkby town centre - which needs a redevelopment scheme - be it this one or AN other & ditto for EFC & our stadium issue.
Despite the enquiry being in November - having spoken to a friend of mine who has knowledge of the public enquiry process - he said it would be a minimum of 3/4 months & more than likely 6-9 months, after the enquiry finished - that the final decision would be made. So that could take it to anywhere between March & September '09. N.B. Note the club haven't said anything re: this news yet - whereas KMBC & Tesco's have...... |
