MEXICAN RAVE FOR EVERTON
EXCLUSIVE BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE
By Alan Nixon
Everton boss David Moyes is making a shock move for Mexico keeper Guillermo Ochoa.

The 23-year-old, who plays for Club America in his homeland, is keen to come to England and his camp were in talks with a senior Everton money man last week.

Moyes already has Tim Howard as his No.1 and negotiations with Ochoa - rated at £4million - are a surprise.

Ochoa, nicknamed 'Memo', has been a regular in the Mexico side since he was 20 and is highly regarded.

The Everton 'Mr Fixit' is very influential and is trying to persuade Ochoa that he has a future on Merseyside as a potential long-term replacement for American Howard.

Moyes has chased players far and wide without much success.

Many of his targets are linked to wheeler-dealing agent Pini Zahavi, who is close allies with Everton backers Robert Earl and Philip Green.

Zahavi is trying to bring over Argentinian striker Diego Milito, from Real Zaragoza, and Portuguese star Joao Moutinho.

Yeah me too - I was more interested by the bottom bit saying Pini Zihavi is now working for us.

He's the one that always negotiates the big deals. If he's on the case with the Moutihno deal I can see us signing him.

RE: Guillermo Ochoa.
Is Phillip Green a backer? I've heard he has given a loan to help fund the move to Kirby but i'm not sure.

I'm excited that Pini Zihavi is close allies with Rob Earl because he has a lot of good contacts with players and clubs around the world and always seems to pull deals off left, right and centre.

Completely agree MC - I think the fact that we've seemingly enlisted the help of Zihavi (the Don King of transfer deals) means that a) we're serious & b) we've finally done something positive in acknowledging our lack of success in attracting top players to GP & negotiating / clinching deals.

If true (& tbf Nixon is one of the more reliable hacks) this has got to be good news IMO.

Probably not Laughing He's involved in that MIS 3rd party ownership things.

I'd rather have him working with us though, than trying to sign any of our players.

Zihavi is quite a controvertial figure in football. After he was involved with Roman buying Chelsea, Ken Bates called him a "Dickhead". Anyone who screws over Ken Bates is ok in my eyes. His services don't come cheap. Although he is known for making any deal happen, he's also known for charging huge prices for his services. I hope it pays off.
