SSig_agreed

maybe me just blowing off a bit of steam reading all these forums and seeing a lot of doom and gloom being posted just wanted to say it is not really that bad.

Also can't wait for the new season to start Yellowgrin

bluesteve Wrote:i agree that we faded badly after new year but we played a lot more games last season too. I do agree we need numbers but why the facination with all these players that cost a fortune players I am sure can be found from lower leagues as in the past. It is just a farce to suggest that if you do not pay so many millions the player will be rubbish.

How many ex Everton players would not be bought now if they were available Graham Sharpe, Andy Gray etc etc

Im not advocating we go out and spend £10's of millions on every player.

Shopping in the lower leagues for every player however will only get is so far, if we want to puch on for a Champs League spot. Lescott & Cahill have both been fantastic signings.

Given our preference for 4-5-1 the defensive mid we bring in needs to be proven, we cant afford to take a risk.

We need to bring in a balance of quality to help us make that extra step up and quantity. I reckon we need at least 6 players minimum, particulary considering we have lost; McFadden, Stubbs, Vidarsson, De Silva, Fernandes, Wessels, Gardiner and Carsley. Yes not all of them played regulary but some did and the rest acted as cover, participated in matches in training etc. Our squad was thread bare as it is last season and a failure to bring the numbers back up could seriously cost us this season.

No we'll be fine by the season. Dont expect more than 1 new player to be a starter. Our squad was good enough.

WTF - Steve Blue, BlueSteve and Ste EFC having a conversation together.
I'm confused Meh

We need numbers as well as quality. I'd be hoping we play at least as many and preferably more games than last season

Laughing seems to be Ste night tonight!!

SSig_agreed joblue. Like I said I dont give a sh*t where or how much these new players will cost and come from just as long as they improve the side and we're able to progress and fight it out for a Champions League spot. If that happens then i'll be happy
