PIneaar - are we a better or worse team with him in the side
Easy question - Pineaar are we better or worse without him?

simple answer is better. There's no one out there who'd be better for us for £5m

HOW are we "better"?

We've finished 5th twice, 8th, then 7th twice. And the last 7th was down to Jelavic's goals more than any other reason.

And kindly don't bother with the shitty "We play better football with him" spiel.....Wigan & swansea play nice football, apparently - and look where they finished.

I've never once said we're WORSE with pienaar in the side MM. you'd like to think so though. That'd suit you wouldn't it?

(EDIT: Is that why there's only the two options - not one for "no different"? Whistle )

But what I've been sayin' speaks for itself. There's NO conclusive evidence that we're BETTER when he's in the side. And I don't want him here on more money than he's worth, for no appreciable or visible gain to the club.

GOT IT, KNOBHEAD?
Ned, PROVE there's nobody out there can do pienaar's job for £5m. As I mentioned in the other thread, drenthe's figues were comparably favourable to pienaar's - and we could get him (even though he's a prick) on a FREE.

When you can prove it, then I'll gladly concede I'm wrong.

Rather than look at figures (though 7 assists and 4 goals says a lot already) I'd rather just look at how he plays. He was brilliant for us last season, absolutely brilliant. Therefore I'm delighted he's coming back, you may not be, but he is so you'll just have to live with it

Well, I'll have no choice will I, ned?

But I'll be watchin' what develops from it with a particular interest, over the comin' months. And I'll be keenly scrutinisin' who says what, at key points over the period.

Nothin' more to say about your "No-one better for £5m" I see? Whistle

Well if you can find me a better player I'll conceed. Frankly £5m for Pienaar is a small price, we'd have wanted at least £10m for him when he was under contract with us

Donovan would be around (or less) than £5M and would do better than pienaar
