He's signed the contract, one year deal. Why we can't give him a 2 year I don't know but at least he's here next season and if he keeps playing well he should get another deal next summer

He deserved a two year deal. He's the fittest player in the squad unfortunately, his name is not Cahill or Nev.

Why? Bein' the fittest at the club is no reason whatsoever.

A one-year contract was the right offer. If he's as consistent as he's been over the last 18 or so months, for the next 12, then he should get another contract. He's almost 35 - How the f*ck can people expect to be taken seriously, if we're offerin' 34/5 y.o. players relatively long contracts? Especially ones who are capable of 2-3 howlers per season? (Plus those he's got away with). IMO he's still no better than yobo.

I appreciate your neVILE comment, anyone who actually believes he's worth ANYTHING to our club, in ANY capacity, is a total bollockite. There is a plethora of players out there who can do better than him, for a lot less money.

Distin still has 3-4 good years in him so 1 year contracts are a bonus to him and everton
