Everton V West Bromwich Albion Match Thread 1-1-12
Venue: Hawthorns Final Score: 1-0 Scorers: Anichebe Team: Howard, Hibbert, Distin, Jagielka, Baines, Rodwell, Neville, Heitinga, Osman, Cahill, Saha Bench: Mucha, Gueye, McFadden, Bilyaletdinov, Stracqualursi, Barkley, Anichebe. links (click) EvertonFC report (EFC OS) BBC match report EPL report Player Ratings Match report Last match: 1-1 draw with Sunderland Last season: Team News: Felliani, Rodwell, Coleman, Anichebe out/doubts Team last match: Howard, Hibbert, Distin, Jagielka, Baines, Drenthe, Neville, Heitinga, Osman, Cahill, Saha Bench: Mucha, Bilyaletdinov, Stracqualursi, McFadden, Gueye, Barkley, Vellios Opposition News: Form: Everton - Draw / Win / Draw / Loss / Loss = 5 pts from 15 West Brom - Draw / Win / Win / Loss / Draw = 8 pts from 15 (league games only) Position: Everton are 10th in the league on 21 points, one place below West Brom, on 22. Everton have a negative goal difference of -2 while West Brom have a goal difference of -7. Everton have a game in hand. Lawrenson Prediction: 2-1 victory West Brom are going well. They were good value for their draw against Manchester City on Boxing Day and gave them a really good game. Everton, by their own admission, didn't deserve a penalty against Sunderland in their last game but thought they deserved a point and they were probably right on both counts. On form alone, I would have to go for the Baggies but I am wondering whether Everton might be able to spring a bit of a surprise. Toffees boss David Moyes says he is searching for a striker to sign in January but I'm not sure he will have the money to get one. Having Landon Donovan back on loan is a boost for them, and he will make a difference, but the reality is they have little or no money to spend. Their fans want to know where all the money has gone but no-one has taken it - it has been spent on wages to keep players there and to keep the club in the Premier League. It is all very well the supporters saying they want a rich owner to come in but Everton need a new ground and they need a multi-multibillionaire to fund that too. So I don't really understand the fans marching before games calling for chairman Bill Kenwright to go, because that won't change the club's situation. Those sort of protests are fine in my book, however, because unlike what is going on at Blackburn, once the game starts the Everton fans are 100% behind the team. My prediction: 1-0 defeat If the baggies can shut out Man City, we can't hope to score there. They are in good form so expect another gritty, uninspring performance. Hodgson will relish seeing Neville and Heitinga in midfield and we can probably expect little possession here as well which will be just brilliant. West Brom are certainly not a better side than us, will we attack them, will we inject some youth or pace in the side, will be give players who have not had a chance a run in the team, all these factors could make us excited about the game. I am not excited about the game. "During my time at Everton, Goodison Park came to feel like a second home, with the supporters of the club, and the people of the city becoming a second family to me. If you were to take Everton out of the City, I firmly believe the club could no longer call itself the ‘People’s Club’ and I give my whole-hearted support to the campaign to keep Everton in the City" - Duncan Ferguson "My aim is to be an academy coach at Everton." - Joe Parkinson Like what you see? Crackin' pre-match analysis. Couldn't have put it better meself.A few thousand (mainly hungover) blues puttin' themselves through torture by travelling the 90 or so miles to watch moyes almost wilfully hinder us by playin' neVILE & saha once again........God bless their tenacity. If those fans are still pished by k.o. , then by full time I guarantee they'll have sobered up, should moyes persist with his pets. Anyways, I'm goin' for another laboured draw. Undecided as to how many goals - If any at all. rat kopite -> <-MeJUSTICE FOR EDDIE GILFOYLE!! http://eddiegilfoylesupport.com/the%20ca...foyle).pdf |

I think we've got more chance of winning this than the Sunderland game, however that said I'd take a point again. Let's hope their players sneek a few too many be bevvies in on new years eve

A New Year, undoubtedly the same old shite.
We'll all (well, most of us) will go in with great hopes, only to be bored shitless with the same old negative rubbish. 0-0, or 1 goal for the throstles. KENWRIGHT OUT! MOYES OUT! ROUND OUT! BOARD OUT! EVERYBODY OUT!

0-0 or 1-0 to the baggies. Moyes will start with 7 defenders for this game.

If we play both Neville and Heitinga in midfield again we will struggle to break them down. Heitinga did play well against Sunderland however I would drop Neville as I thought he was awful!
We will play the usual 4-5-1 system. But I would pick... Howard Hibbert, Jagielka, Distin,Baines Osman, Heitinga, Barkley, Drenthe McFadden Vellios <script type="text/javascript" src="http://en.sevenload.com/pl/JhtuRld/500x314/0"></script> |
