My prediction: 1-1
Who will be our match winners? This will be the kind of scrappy game that will see a thunderbolt from midfield, maybe Osman or Bily but utter tripe elsewhere given our injury list. Villa like to score at Goodison and I think their urgency will make them pretty formidable here whoever they put out. Unless we put some pace out wide we'll be under siege from Young and Downing. If we are to win, we likely have to rely on Tiny, but it has been said over the last few days, step up Vellios!

"During my time at Everton, Goodison Park came to feel like a second home, with the supporters of the club, and the people of the city becoming a second family to me. If you were to take Everton out of the City, I firmly believe the club could no longer call itself the ‘People’s Club’ and I give my whole-hearted support to the campaign to keep Everton in the City" - Duncan Ferguson
"My aim is to be an academy coach at Everton." - Joe Parkinson

RE: Everton VS Aston Villa Match Thread 2-4-11
Expect a win here, there's unrest in the villa camp;added to the fact that they're woeful this season, especially away from home;where they've averaging .75 of a point, and shipping over 2 goals per game

However,us being Everton, nothing's ever done easily - so I'll go for a 1 goal victory.

Tip: Beckford (Anytime) 5/4 with Hill's - not much value,but could make you a small profit.(best odds = boylesports @15/8) First goal = 5's hill's (11/2 Skybet)

However,if Vellios starts, then why not try a small wager on a debut goal? First goal = 7's Hill's (Skybet best odds @15/2)

Anytime @ 2's with Hill's (Skybet best price @ 5/2)

Can see a decent home win here, would be nice to put them into deeper sh*t. One of the teams whose fans I despise.

It wont be easy though given we are down to about 13 fit players. May be worth giving Vellios and Gueye a go, even if from the bench.

If we hadn't so many injuries I'd say 2 or more goal win but with the way things are I think we'll scrape it by a goal

Fancy us to kick on so i am going for a 4-2 home win. would like to see the young lads given a chance.

Vellios has been scoring for the ressie's so may be give him a crack up front with beckford.

Going for us to win 1-0. Villa aren't playing well and should be there for the taking, but I just can't see us winning comfortably. Too many injuries to centre midfielders and forwards for my liking.

Assuming all the doubts are out I'd go with:

Howard
Hibbo Jags Distin Baines
Osman Neville Bilyaletdinov Gueye
Vellios Beckford

RE: Everton VS Aston Villa Match Thread 2-4-11
Interesting stats;
• Everton have conceded 30% of their goals from headers, the highest proportion in the Premier League.
• The Toffees are the only team in the top flight who have not earned a penalty this season.
• Everton have kept just one clean sheet in their last 13 league games.

Assuming all doubts, DAVID MOYES WILL DO THIS:

Howard
Hibbert Jags Distin Baines
Osman Heitinga Neville Billy
Anichebe Beckford

SHOCKING SIDE!

;)

but could be

Howard
Hibbert Jags Distin Baines
Osman Neville Gueye
Bilyaletdinov
Beckford Anichebe

Not looking good!

and if all doubts are fit, a good side in:

Howard
Neville Jags Distin Baines
Coleman Rodwell Osman Gueye
Cahill
Beckford

I would be very surprised to see Rodwell play, its meant to be doubtful that he'll play again this season
