The Japanese Earthquake/Tsunami
"Chelmsford City FC have shown their solidarity with Japanese midfielder Takumi Ake and his fellow natives by organising a 'Tako Fund' collection to raise money for the victims of the recent earthquake and tsunami in his home country.

Collection buckets were out in force at the game with Dover Athletic on Monday 14th March and the fans at the match raised an incredible £1,122, incorporating the sale of commemorative Tako mugs and other items."

Last night at our home game against Dover we held a bucket collection on behalf of our Japanese player Takumi Ake ("Tako") to try and raise funds for the Red Cross to aid their efforts in Japan after the natural disaster at the weekend. On the night over £1200 was raised in bucket donations plus there is a Just Giving website which continues to receive donations and now stands at over £1600.

"Sincere thanks go out to all Dover fans that contributed yesterday. I know Tako has been overwhelmed with the response in such a short amount of time.

This is such a worthwhile cause as the events over the weekend were truly shocking so if anyone else would like to contribute then you can do so via the justgiving.com.

Here’s a short interview with Takumi about the appeal-
