RE: Beckford?
If we play 4-4-2 then where does Cahill play? He's nowhere near as good in midfield in that formation

I am not saying Beckford is all that but we need to try him with another striker. I would love to see him and Yak up front, just once. 4-4-2 is an outdated tactic. It should only be used if you are expected to turn the other team over or are in need of a goal late on. Other than that 4-5-1 is superior as you control the midfield. As for Beckford he should be used as an impact sub late on in games because he has the energy to chase defenders down and put pressure on them. |

RE: Beckford?
Beckford should be given a proper chance just like all new signings. Play him in the right way and give him the proper service and he'll score goals

RE: Beckford?
We would need to play 4-4-2 for him to have any chance.
That would mean dropping Cahill, which isnt going to happen. From what I have seen he doesnt look good enough, his awareness is abysmal and he doesnt seem to have the strength required to hold the ball up. He might have a decent finish as he has shown in the past, but you need a lot more than that in the Prem. NSNO - No Sale, No Optimism |

It's nothing of the sort. rat kopite -> <-MeJUSTICE FOR EDDIE GILFOYLE!! http://eddiegilfoylesupport.com/the%20ca...foyle).pdf |

United consistently use both 4-5-1 and 4-4-2 depending on who they are up against. Hardly outdated. Keep the faith! In Moyes We Trust! |

Like I said in my post it should only be used when looking for a goal or if you are expected to turn the opposition over. Other than that it is outdated in comparrison to 4-5-1 which allows you to control the midfield which will lead to dominance in the game. Also the only advantage to 4-4-2 is that you have two strikers which is pretty much the same as 4-5-1 when the team is on the attack because the attacking midfielder would fill that void. |

RE: Beckford?
Playing 4-4-2 is best played when you have the right midfield personnel, we blatantly dont, we dont have enough natural wide players and the even the central midfielders arent the quickest.
4-5-1 suits our players us down to the ground, it certainly wasent an issue at the back end of last season when we were winning plenty of games, scoring plenty of goals at times. If Beckford has got anything about him, he will learn to adopt and understand how to play the lone striker position. |
