Evertonicon Great post, Read it!!!!!!
The Everton Farce!
Premier League Everton
by patches_winnetts (U3874468) 01 September 2008

I've followed Everton for 28 years.

I've enjoyed the glorious highs of the 80s and endured the miserable lows of the 90s.

But never in all that time have I felt as disappointed with the club as I have these past two months.

Last season ended on such a high - finishing 5th in the league, challenging the top 4 all season, a league cup semi final and a decent run in the UEFA Cup. We made some decent signings and Moyes was doing a good job of trimming some of the 'dead wood' from the squad.

What has happened since has been nothing short of farcical!

Our CEO has walked out on us. Our manager is still yet to sign a new contract. We've sat idly by as, without exception, every single other team in the league has outspent us in the transfer market. Our pursuit of transfer targets has been a comedy of errors. We've lost twice at home already, conceded 8 goals in 3 games, and the match we won we were comprehensively outplayed in. We've signed an injury-prone full back, a midfielder none of us had ever heard of, a crock (but still potentially excellent) striker...and now Carlo Nash.

Let's face it, you'd be hard-pressed to find an Everton fan right now that DOESN'T feel like he/she is trapped in a bad dream.

It will be an absolute miracle if we manage to finish above the likes of Man Ciy, Villa, Portsmouth, Blackburn, Spurs, and maybe even the likes of West Ham and Newcastle.

I am an enormous fan of Moyes and I know we have a huge lack of funds in comparison to some of these other sides, but the reality is that Moyes has to shoulder the lions share of the blame for what has happened. He is the manager of the club. He steers the ship and we know that Kenwright doesn't sneeze without first asking Moyes if it's ok.

I'm sick to death of hearing Moyes blame it on the market conditions and 'unforeseen' circumstances. The simple fact is that every club is operating in the same market place, yet no other side has been as much of a laughing stock as we have been. Every other club has been smart enough to not sell players until a replacement is signed, sealed and delivered, whereas Moyes has let people leave without having any kind of contingency plan in place.

I'm gutted. Just totally and absolutely gutted.

BUT (and it's a big but), I've vented my frustrations now - it's off my chest and out of my system, and it's time to back Moyes, back the players and get back behind the team and do our bit as fans to drive them on to success.

COME ON YOU BLUES...COME ON!!!!

Yeah, sums it up 'absolutely gutted'. Moyes for all the work he's done has to accept some blame. We were in with a serious shout of breaking the 'big 4' and now we'll be lucky to finish top half.
We've never had a better chance, and we've never f*cked up so big. I couldnt f***ing care less right now what Moyes has done in the past, if he's responsible for this f*** up that is now the joke that is Evertons pre-season then he's gotta explain why he cant cope.
