I'd of played to actual score a goal instead of defend.

Howard
Coleman Yobo Senderos Baines
Donovan Arteta Osman Neville Pienaar
Saha

Hindsight has perfect 20/20 vision.

Moyes put out almost the exact same team as against United (other than the CH's), and they just didn't perform.

There seemed to be a lack of fight in the first half. For some reason we played at a pace that suited Sporting. When we did have the ball, we constantly passed to men that were marked closely, and didn't decide to have a go until we were already a goal behind.

Don't think you can blame the team selection. Moyes picked the team he thought could win the game. The players just didn't do it.

I thought I could at the very least expect them to come out and put up a bit more of a go in the 2nd half but they didn't even bother to do that. Moyes can't have been that hard on them at H/T,even though he was stood in his tech.area throughout the match.

Howard apart (And maybe Baines, who at least got involved) the rest of themn should hang their heads in shame.

As for those who sing the praises of neville's "leadership" WELL WHERE THE f*** WAS IT TONIGHT????????

Time for him to go,I'm not going again as long as he's at the club.

He said in the interview prior to the game that if he didnt win anything with us in his career he would class it as a failure. He should just leave now and that alone will help us on our way to a trophy. Ive defended Nev time and time again for his leadership, although Ive never seen him as a decent player, but tonight and pretty much every game this season, bar Arsenal he has been below par. Ive ran out of patience with him.

Starting to agree with the comments about Neville. Doesn't matter how good his leadership skills are, if he's not playing well he should be dropped.

At the moment, he offers no more going forward than Hibbert but isn't as good defensively as Hibbert usually is. Possible time to give Coleman a chance against Spurs?

Wouldn't sell Neville yet though. He's worthy of a squad place for the time being, if for no other reason than he can provide cover in a number of places.

Tactics and performances were poor. I have given up on pre match interviews from players now saying what they need to do IE Phil Neville, who has very bad with Donovan and Billy today. Donovan must of had 4 touches in 60 minutes.

Only worthy of a squad place while others are regaining fitness...............the sooner he's gone the better. We've got cover for every position when others regain full fitness,so there's no point in keeping him,I don't even want him here in any sort of capacity, jsut give him away,we owe him nothing at all.

If Moyes doesn't see that he's not good enough, then questions must be asked about him too imo.

cant see us selling him, he will either become a squad player or retire and go into the coaching staff.

Also neville's meant to DM's mouthpiece on the pitch. Didn't see him barrackin' anyone to get the ball forward, get a foot in,or just about anything this evenin'.

Get rid of him altogether PDQ and install Cahill as skipper imo.

I dunno about anyone else, but I noticed tonight that we seemed to have reverted back to hoof-ball again?
