Everton VS Wolves Match Thread 6-5-12 - toffeebrandon - 05-04-2012 07:45 AM Everton V Wolverhampton Wanderers Match Thread 6-5-12 Venue: Molineux Final Score: 0-0 Scorers: 0 Team: Howard, Hibbert, Heitinga, Jagielka, Distin, McFadden, Osman, Fellaini, Pienaar, Cahill, Jelavic Bench: Mucha, Stracqualursi, Baxter, Gueye, Barkley, Coleman, Duffy links (click) Everton OS report BBC Match Report Text Commentary (EPL OS) Last match (Tue): 1-1 draw at Stoke[/i] (Crouch og) Last Match (Sat): 4-0 victroy over Fulham (Jelavic (2), Felliani, Cahill) Corresponding fixture: 2-1 victory (Jagielka, Baines) Team News: Drenthe suspended(?), Baines doubtful, Rodwell out Team last match (league): Howard, Hibbert, Heitinga, Jagielka, Distin, Anichebe, Osman, Fellaini, Pienaar, Cahill, Jelavic Bench: Mucha, Stracqualursi, McFadden, Gueye, Barkley, Coleman, Duffy Opposition News: Wolves are already relegated Form: Everton - Draw / Win / Draw / Win / Draw 9 pts from 15 Wolves - Draw / Loss / Draw / Loss / Loss 2 pts from 15 (league games only) Position: Everton are 7th in the Premier League on 51 points, thirteen places above Wolves who are on 24. Everton have a goal difference of +8 while Fulham have a goal difference of -41. Lawrenson Prediction: 2-0 victory I know Wolves showed a bit of spirit to fight back from 4-1 down for a draw at Swansea last week but I cannot see Terry Connor getting a first win as manager here. Everton will not lie down and they are playing better now than they were before they lost to Liverpool in the FA Cup semi-finals. They are in mid-table but they still have plenty to play for because they want to finish above the Reds in the table and they are not going to relax now. My prediction: 2-1 victory We are unbeaten in forever in the league so going to the bottom of the league, you'd think this would be a shoe-in... wrong! Wolves are off the leash now they are out of the PL pack and that makes them more dangerous than before. They've done alright in the last few games and they will surely be looking to make problems, especially if given the chance to press forward should Jelavic be deployed as a lone wolf. Liverpool are still howling at the door so we need another 3 points (and hopefully some extra goal difference) to prevent being blown down from our 7th place perch. Hopefully we'll press them as if we cry wolf at the back we'll be well set upon but I think Moyes will see them as predators in sheep's clothing and may well set out carefully. Still he'll be thrown to the wolves if he loses this one, so lets hope Pienaar keeps his mind on the game and doesn't aim any wolf whistles at the crowd and we should come through this one. *ahem* RE: Everton VS Wolves Match Thread 6-5-12 - OJL - 05-04-2012 12:13 PM I don't think this will be as easy as it would have been a few weeks ago. Its their last home game, the pressure's off and they'll be desperate to get TC a result. However that said we simply must win it. Anything else would be a failure. I don't think we'll hammer them but I think we'll edge it 2-1. Win this and 7th is pretty much ours RE: Everton VS Wolves Match Thread 6-5-12 - BARCELONA BLUE - 05-04-2012 12:19 PM must win at wolves cant see us getting anything against newcastle so jev to score his first hattrick RE: Everton VS Wolves Match Thread 6-5-12 - Mein blut ist blau - 05-04-2012 01:52 PM Wolves are cack (In case ya didn't already know!) They're even playin' like they're not arsed. We don't make it easy for ourselves against cack. That'll change tomorrow, when we win by a clear three-goal margin - But DO NOT be fooled, and DO NOT read anythin' into it, because it was too little, too late - YET A-FUCKIN'-GAIN Next season (At least early on) we'll go back to the same tired old rigmarole of strugglin' against the relegation candidates. We've given the shite at least 4pts (We should at least've got a draw at Goodison)......................Scrap that - We've given them 6pts AND a cup final spec ('Mon the chavs), and they're STILL within touchin' distance of us. The shitest shite team for 50+ years, and moyes has supinely conceded defeat - Every time, before a ball was kicked in all three games. Unforgiveable. I want the season to finish right now. I want moyes gone (And I'd wanna see the fans callin' for him to go) if we're not top 6 after 8 games next season. The future'll be evident from the day after the newcastle game, so my advice is for all Evertonians to brace themselves for another season of abject disappointment if we're still waitin' for anythin' positive by June 1st; because after that, if anyone says they don't know what's comin' then they're kiddin' nobody but theirselves. Moan over. (But you'll see )
RE: Everton VS Wolves Match Thread 6-5-12 - OJL - 05-04-2012 01:58 PM For us to have a load of players including Arteta leave in the summer and not replace them whilst others strengthened and still finish 7th is a great achievement. Do you really think with the resources we've got we should have finished above Chelsea? If Kenwright's still in charge I'd snap your hand off for 7th place again RE: Everton VS Wolves Match Thread 6-5-12 - Mein blut ist blau - 05-04-2012 02:42 PM (05-04-2012 01:58 PM)OJL Wrote: For us to have a load of players including Arteta leave in the summer and not replace them whilst others strengthened and still finish 7th is a great achievement. Do you really think with the resources we've got we should have finished above Chelsea? Oh yeah, great indeed. 6pts handed over to the shite - as well as a cup final place......All before a ball was kicked. "I'm bringin' a fart to a sh*t-fight" Just doesn't cut it. Points dropped against worse than shite (AGAIN) We were headin' for the lowest goals per season tally before Jelavic arrived. We only got him because rangers are in the same sort of shite we'll be in, if the status quo continues. We've brought back a former player on loan, and we're probably payin' him more than the money we originally steadfastly refused to (and rightly so) Where's the sense in buyin' him back & payin' him what he's gettin from the yids (Which is quite possibly more than what we were offerin'?) I doubt very much we'll be signing him, come the close season. We've had a second cameo appearance from a player we should've signed first time around. Will we have to turn to a third cameo appearance, to get ourselves a kick-start to YET ANOTHER shite start to the season? It's not so much to do with the money as the players moyes had at his disposal. Are newcastle really 13pts better than us, with their squad? I don't believe so. But they're ahead of chelsea, aren't they? Would we have needed to spend what newcastle have, to finish with the amount of points they're on now? No. But seeing as you mentioned finances/resources........There's no Bellefield to sell next season. No arteta, no beckford, no pienaar & no yakubu (Another pearl of wisdom, gettin' rid of him for a pittance, and leavin' us with the laziest ****** on the planet, virtually unchallenged for his startin' place) Season tickets will no doubt be down, as will Tv revenue. But hey? We'll have a new kit manufacturer, so hopefully everybody'll buy one, and we'll solve all our problems that way )So, bearin' that in mind, with another shite start to the season, do you think sales of half-season tickets (Another embarrassment imo) will suddenly go through the roof, with fans safe in the knowledge that our season takes shape in January? Nay, lad. Evertonians are gettin' rightly pissed off with the same shite time after time. The symbiotic relationship of manager & (so-called) chairman is bein' carefully scrutinised by an evermore increasin' number of newly vigilant & increasingly sceptical Evertonians; many of them will will be adopting a "wait & see" approach in the close season. And who could blame them? As I asked, would we need to spend as much as the skunks have, to get the amount of points they have NOW come the end of the season? No, we wouldn't. So please don't give me the same old shite about bein' skint. It's beyond tiresome. They don't even allow themselves to be seen to be doin' somethin'. RE: Everton VS Wolves Match Thread 6-5-12 - 1878evertonian - 05-04-2012 11:56 PM At least we've not spent £100M to finish 8th like that lot across the park! I can't believe how dogleash has been allowed to keep his job after wasting so much money based on them doing well in the cups. Anyhow, I reckon we'll give wolves a hammering although they did do well against Swansea, I just think we're going to be far too good for what is essentially a championship team. RE: Everton VS Wolves Match Thread 6-5-12 - Ryan - 05-06-2012 11:07 AM I think we'll lose today. I'd like to see Barkley start in central midfield, we've got injuries and we only really need to win one game and not lose the other to secure 7th RE: Everton VS Wolves Match Thread 6-5-12 - 1878evertonian - 05-06-2012 01:48 PM Mc fadden starts ![]() Anyone know who the co-commentator is??
