Moyes.. - MichaelCorleone - 09-25-2010 10:15 AM

... needs to learn from his horrendous mistakes so far this season. His brand of football is always on the edge in terms of results by virtue of its generally negative nature.

I hope we see/don't see the following.

Fellaini played as a AM. Playing him there absolutely stinks. It leads to long ball football, utter frustration all round and makes us very one dimensional. Personally I would like to see Bily being given a go there. Moyes spend £10mil on him and it raises a further question mark over him if Bily doesn't work out. Fellaini was on the best players in the league playing in the holding role. Moyes loves it playing people out of position though to accommodate his favourites.

Heitinga in midfield. He is absolutely f***ing garbage in the holding role and was shite there last season. When playing only one up top we simply cant afford two defensive midfielders in the middle - we have seen the results in our goal return so far this season.

Osman - if fit please don't play on the wing. This comment requires no explanation. Give Gueye a go again - at least he has some pace.

Coleman - was again the best player the other day albeit against Brentford, but offers us the best option at RB. He forward thinking is required in a defence minded set up.

Distin- contrary to popular opinion of people who must watch the game blind folded he has not been our best player this season. He is a liability and adds doubt to the minds of all those around him.

Arteta - please make a f***ing forward pass. I hope we aren't seeing a repeat of the new contract syndrome which Saha has been riddled with.

The season really is in a sh*t state. Moyes doesn't know what his best XI is and he seems to have a real issue dealing with expectation.

He has one of the best pool of midfielders available to him in the league, a defence packed full of internationals and forwards who have scored consistently at the top level.

The start simply isn't good enough, regardless of his 'achievements' in the past it needs to be sorted out today.

Everyone has a shelf life and it all looks very stale. Yes we have had some decent finishes BUT we have also witnessed some real debacles with Moyes, which have included the lowest top flight points total in our history. Brentford obviously being the most recent example. We have also been subjected to some of the worst football every seen at Goodison. Something isn't right at the moment and he doesn't have long to turn it around before we are in real trouble.

looking at what moyes said in an interview that i can't be bothered pasting he's looking at coleman for rm to give proper crosses. I would guess neville rb, coleman rm osman is injured so he won't figure.
Distin is sh*t - responsible for most of the goals this season, and i would guess the lack of confidence the rest of the team has in the defence. PUt heiting beside jags - it can't be any worse anyway.

Completely agree.

Playing Coleman at RM wouldnt surprise me. Playing people out of position is one of Moyes specialities.

Difficult time for Moyes but we've got to stick by him (no pun intended).

I would love to see Heitinga alongside Jagielka but I just can't see it happening due to Moyes' persistancy over playing a left-footed CB.

Fellaini needs to be playing in the holding role but Moyes is sticking him up at top because all Jagielka and Distin seem to do is go long every time which is bloody annoying as well!

Bilyaletdinov. Either flog him or play him. Having a 10m midfielder on the bench just isn't good enough. I'd rather see him out on the right than Osman but after seeing Bily start there against Brentford I really don't see how he's going to commend a place in this team.

Pienaar has clearly got his mind on getting more money and we either tell him to take it or bugger off. Enough of his mercenary behaviour. I don't want to see my hard earned pay for somehow with such a shite attitude.

Arteta can f*** off as well. After every single match he does an interview saying we need to do better! WELL DO IT THEN FFS. Actions speak louder than words and he's slowly falling into that new-contract-Saha-syndrome.

It's a real pity that Rodwell is injured because for me he was one of the best players in pre-season and had it not been for that hound-dog Warnock we would have seen Jack in the middle creating like we know he's capable of.

I feel sorry for Hibbert because he's not put a foot wrong in terms of defending but he simply isn't good enough going forward. Moyes needs to start playing Coleman regularly. He's not a kid for crying out loud! The lad is 21 and is only going to get better.

I just pray to God that Cahill returns in time because he may seem inactive for a large chunk of the match but when the situation comes and we need someone to deliver he's the One.

God I sound like my bloody girlfriend when she whining. Come on lads let's get in their faces today and get the 3 points! Happy0144

RE: Moyes.. - toffeebrandon - 09-25-2010 11:51 AM

Almost every football fan I've spoken to asks if there is a reason Felliani is played in attack, Coleman doesnt start and even those who just had a passing interest in the world cup ask why Heitinga is a midfielder for us.

I wonder if somebody did a survey outside of the ground, most people would choose an identical team...and it would have around 6-7 players in differing positions to where Moyes has started them this season.

AND I REALLY WISH HE WOULD STOP MAKING LIKE FOR LIKE SUBSTITUTIONS WHEN WE ARE LOSING!

i can see his point regarding coleman defensive problems - his tackles in the penalty box are a liability.

RE: Moyes.. - Ryan - 09-25-2010 12:44 PM

Arteta is played too deep to influence hence the backwards / side passing. He needs to play in a 4-1-4-1. Fellaini holding, and then a fluid attacking 4 of Pienaar, Arteta, Cahill and Gueye, with Yakubu in front. If we're playing with no wingers than he needs Coleman at RB. I wish we could play people in their preferred positions!

LETS PREDICT THAT MOYES FAVOURITES WILL START TODAY. OSMAN RM, HIBBERT RB, CAHILL UP TOP ON HIS OWN, HEITINGA DM, FELLAINI UP FRONT, BILLY RIGHT WING Laughing

We need to start crossing again all our goals and most teams goals come from crosses.

Well said that man!!Thumb Not much there to disagree with..........even the part about your missus whining Tongue

Jokin' aside though, Arteta's quiet anyway. I don't think he's mastered the lingo enough to express himself eloquently. He's had poor spells before,I can't see this being down to the same thing as saha entirely, although I could be wrong. He should never have been given the captaincy in the first place - It should've went to Cahill, failing him, then Jagielka

Hibbert will always get the nod from me over neville. neville's not even a utility man anymore,he's just a mouthpiece is all.

It's been well documented about my patience with pienaar and bilyaletdinov - so I'll spare yous the same thing (Yer welcome Greets_(17) )

And finally,Moyes. More of the same in the next few games RE: Team selection, dithering over substitutions, and like for like substitutions, over the next couple of games, will only enhance the allegations against him that he's only got one idea.

We'll draw today imo - And for me,that won't be too bad a result, our record at the cottage is poor anyway.

We need to start crossing again all our goals and most teams goals come from crosses.

Definately if they're fit.

Moyes has been a decent manager for us but I genuinely feel he has run his course. He cant take us any further.

He is unable to make the strong decisions required to drop players who arent performing.

He has favourites, who he has a blind spot towards. His substitutions leave a lot to be desired and his tactics are far too negative.

This is not a knee jerk opinion. I have posted similar in the past. I think he is a good backs against the wall manager. Gets the most from a small squad etc. I dont think however he manages a bigger sqaud effectively.

The body language of the players is all wrong at the moment and we know he has lost the sqaud in the past. The same may well have happened again as reported on Radio City this week.

As for who we could get.... there would be a multitude of top managers who would want the job. I'd like some one like Jol, who has principles in terms of how the game should be played.

RE: Moyes.. - Ryan - 09-25-2010 01:19 PM

Karl, do you realistically think we could get anyone better than Moyes? If so, who?
For me, there are only a few managers who are better than him. Mourinho, Anchelloti, Sir Alex, Capello & The Barca manager.
