N’Zogbia – he’s yours for £10M

Wigan Chairman Dave Whelan has declared he will sell star midfielder Charles N’Zogbia for £10M but nothing less – a price which falls short of Aston Villa’s rejected bid of £9M.

“It’s £10m or there is no deal,” Whelan said.

“They offered us £9m and we refused it — firstly because we would like to keep Charles, and secondly because if he is to go, then we have to get the right price for him.

Everton are very keen on signing the France international, and it is believed that the 25-year old is eager to move to the Toffees, despite their inability to make a firm offer until funds have been raised from the likely sales of Nigerians Joseph Yobo and Yakubu.

If Arsenal are able to meet Everton’s £20M valuation for central defender Phil Jagielka, Moyes may look to fund moves for Birmingham’s Scott Dann and indeed Charles N’Zogbia.

But with no shortage of funds available at Villa Park from the sales of Ashley Young and Stewart Downing, the midlands club are in pole position to sign the winger.
